What defines a Reflector
A Reflector has no defined centres. Nothing in the chart is fixed, which means there is no consistent way a Reflector operates, and no reliable inner constant to check against.
Roughly one person in a hundred is a Reflector, which is rare enough that most go a long time without meeting another.
Strategy: wait a lunar cycle
With nothing defined, the Moon becomes the reliable rhythm. As it transits, it defines different parts of the chart in a sequence that repeats roughly every twenty-eight and a half days.
The guidance for a major decision is to let a full cycle pass, so the decision gets seen from every angle the Moon provides. It is slow by design, and it is the only authority in the system that is measured in weeks.
Environment is the decision
Because a Reflector amplifies whatever is nearby, the people and places around them matter more than for any other type. The same person is genuinely different in a good environment and a bad one.
This makes where you live and who you spend time with the most consequential decisions available, ahead of what you do for work.
Surprise and disappointment
Surprise is the signature: the sense of being delighted by what the world turns out to be, when the environment is right and the timing has been respected.
Disappointment is the not-self theme, and it usually follows a decision made quickly, or a long stretch in an environment that was never healthy.
Lunar authority in practice
Every Reflector has Lunar authority, and it is the only authority in Human Design measured in weeks rather than moments. As the Moon transits, it temporarily defines different gates and channels, so over a full cycle a Reflector experiences the same decision from a sequence of different vantage points.
In practice this means talking a decision through with trusted people across the month and noticing how it looks at different points, rather than expecting one clean answer to arrive. Nothing is being avoided by waiting: the waiting is the mechanism.

Do Reflectors really have to wait a month for every decision?
Only for major ones. Everyday choices do not need a lunar cycle. The guidance applies to decisions that change your life materially, like moving, or committing to work.
