Splenic Authority
The quietest authority. Instinct that speaks once, in the present moment, and does not raise its voice or repeat itself.
- Held by roughly one in ten
- Comes from: A defined Spleen, with no defined Sacral or Solar Plexus
How to use it
- The Spleen is the oldest awareness in the body and deals in survival. Its information arrives as a quiet knowing in the instant, with no argument attached.
- It speaks once. There is no second warning, which is why Splenic authority is the easiest to miss and the most frequently overridden.
- It is always about now. The Spleen has no interest in the future and will not answer a question about next year.
Common mistakes
- Waiting for it to repeat itself, which it will not do
- Overriding it with reasoning, which is always louder
- Confusing it with anxiety, which is continuous where the Spleen is momentary
The practice
Notice the first quiet impression before the reasoning begins, and act on it the same day. Splenic authority is a muscle that mostly needs to be trusted once to become audible.
Questions
How do I tell Splenic intuition from anxiety?
The Spleen speaks once, quietly, and is finished. Anxiety loops, escalates and argues. If it is still talking to you an hour later, it is probably not the Spleen.
What if I miss it?
It does not repeat. The design assumption is that you will miss it often at first, and that trusting it once or twice makes it much easier to hear afterwards.
