Lunar Authority

The slowest authority in the system. A full lunar cycle, roughly twenty-eight and a half days, before anything major.

How to use it

  • With nothing defined there is no fixed inner reference at all. The Moon supplies one instead: as it transits, it temporarily defines different gates and channels, and the sequence repeats every cycle.
  • Over a month a Reflector sees the same decision from a series of different vantage points. What survives all of them is the answer.
  • This applies to significant decisions. Everyday choices do not need a month.

Common mistakes

  • Being pressured into deciding on somebody else's timeline
  • Treating the wait as indecision rather than the mechanism
  • Applying the full cycle to trivial things and becoming paralysed

The practice

Track the decision across a month, talking it over with trusted people at different points, and notice how it looks at each. Nothing is being avoided: the waiting is the process.

Questions

Do Reflectors have to wait a month for every decision?

Only for major ones such as moving, committing to work, or entering a serious relationship. Everyday decisions do not need a lunar cycle.

Why 28 days?

It is the time the Moon takes to transit all 64 gates. Over that period it temporarily defines different parts of an otherwise undefined chart, so the decision gets seen from every angle the design offers.
